Two real bugs, caught from actual screenshots

Two genuine display bugs made it into earlier builds, both invisible in our own testing but obvious once someone looked at the live site properly: the "Sydney" wordmark in our logo was rendering in the same navy as the header background (readable nowhere), and the language badges in the footer had a CSS specificity conflict causing washed-out, barely-readable text. Both are fixed — the logo now has a dedicated light variant for dark backgrounds (also fixing the same issue in our social share preview image), and the footer language list is fully legible again.

New: optional hero and graphic images, everywhere

Every page on the site can now display an 8:3 hero banner and a 4:5 side graphic, sourced from /images/<page-slug>-hero.webp and /images/<page-slug>.webp respectively. Neither is required — if the file isn't there, the space collapses to nothing rather than showing a broken image or a reserved blank box. Images can be added to the live site at any time without a rebuild.

New: share buttons on every guide

Every article now ends with quick-share links for Facebook, X, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, and email.

Four new guides from real search data

We reviewed actual keyword research for Sydney travel searches and used it to guide four new pages that were genuine gaps: free things to do, a markets guide, rainy day activities, and the Northern Beaches (Dee Why, Collaroy, Narrabeen, Mona Vale) — a real neighbourhood cluster we hadn't covered. We also added a direct, honest answer to "worst time to visit Sydney" on our existing best time to visit page. We deliberately ignored large chunks of that keyword data — hotel brand names, flight routes, and generic weather-utility searches don't match what this site does, and chasing them would mean padding pages with content that doesn't serve anyone actually reading them.

A real bug found during the SEO sweep

A full audit turned up something worth mentioning honestly: every non-English page's footer linked to translated About and Contact pages that didn't exist — over 200 broken links site-wide. We hadn't translated those two pages. They're now properly translated into Indonesian, Chinese, and Japanese, and a full re-scan of all 240 pages confirms zero broken internal links, unique titles and meta descriptions on every page, exactly one H1 per page, and correct hreflang tagging throughout. We also fixed several images that had empty alt text where they should have described the linked content.

Housekeeping

Placeholder social media icons have been removed from the footer until real accounts are ready, and the footer now credits this build to Perth Sites.
